Week in, Week out
A Primary School publication

Welcome to the fifth edition of the weekly Newsletter, where we will be sharing with you all the goings on of our Pre/Primary schools at City, Zek & National school campuses. This week has been a very busy week for our students, who have attended trips, competed in the Cross-Country and our City & Zek campuses have been working hard behind the scenes for weeks in preparation for their performances on the stage. We really do have so many talented students, it's such a pleasure to see our parent community being able to witness all the hard work and effort that goes in to all of these events and performances.

And let's not forget about the end of term two, which will be on Friday 12th April. All of our campuses will close at 12pm and students using the bus service will depart shortly after 12pm. Those of you who collect your children may do so from 12pm.

We hope you are all looking forward to the end of term break and have some fun activities planned, along with some rest time, too.

Here are the activities of the week.

We hope you enjoy.

Happy reading!

City Campus EYFS School trip to Arboretum

Emma Feltham: EYFS Teacher
All of the EYFS children from the City Campus visited Atatürk Arboretum in Bahçeköy. We went for a long walk and looked for signs of spring. The children say that they saw ‘cherry blossom, baby turtles swimming, birds flying, red bugs, rabbits and lots of sticks’. They also had lots of fun making a pretend campfire. It was a great trip!
Mother Tongue Drama - Zek Campus

The Oscars came to Zek campus on Friday, as our students gathered in the Theatre along with parents, in anticipation for the mother-tongue drama coordinated by Ms. Gwillam (Our KS2 ESL teacher) & Ms McQuaid (our Reception teacher). The students each performed a variety of fairytales and our audience listened carefully whilst trying to guess the tale which was being performed.

After the performance Ms Gwillam quizzed our students on how many different languages they could hear during the performance and all were guessed apart form one: Hungarian. But well done to our students for identifying 12 of the 13 different languages spoken; certainly not an easy task.

Well done to all of our students who took part, worked hard to remember their lines and performed brilliantly! Even though some of our students didn't understand the native language being spoken, they were able to guess every fairytale performed correctly.
City Campus Performance of 'Rageddy Ann & the New Toys'

Ms Alison Guzel : Year 2 City campus teacher

Last week the City Primary students performed an excellent show called 'Raggedy Ann and the New Toys'. Their singing and dancing were excellent and greatly appreciated by an audience of proud parents and
teachers. Congratulations to everyone involved - it was a superb effort by all!

Our students made several performances during the week, including for one for our Zek campus KS1 students who visited City campus on Tuesday and two separate additional performances on Thursday were performed for City campus students and parents. Amazing efforts were shown by all of our students from Years 1 - 6 (as you can see from the pictures) and BISI congratulates you all on such excellent performances - well done!
