Volume 1 Number 4
Week in, Week out
A Pre/Primary School publication

Hello! and welcome to our fourth Pre/Primary Newsletter, with all the events covering the last week and a look in to the week ahead.

Our Primary students have been very busy this week with artistic Printmaking, sporting events including the Key Stage 2 Cross-Country and City campus Egg Hunt. Our City students also had a special visit from Greenpeace last week as part of their Geography studies.

With only two more weeks until the end of term two, we have many activities happening across both campuses before we take an end of term break. I'm sure everyone is getting ready for a rest during the end of term holidays and we're almost there now!

We hope you enjoy the events of the week included in this edition...
WEEK IN
Year 6 Printmaking

Ms Cosnett: Zek Campus Year 6 Teacher

Year 6 have been printmaking this week. They came up with their own designs based on Medieval and Ottoman style tiles. They then carved their own lino tile before printing in lots of different colours.
I'm sure you'll agree that they're quite a talented bunch!
Key Stage 2 Cross-Country at Belgrade Forest

Our Key Stage 2 students headed out to Belgrade Forest on Friday for the annual Cross-Country competition and thankfully the unpredictable Istanbul weather stayed dry for the duration of the event. Pictured below are our students with Director of Pre/Primary school, Mr I'Anson, showcasing their medals.

Well done to everyone who took part!
City Campus Year 1 Visit from Greenpeace

Ms Amelia Verralls: Year 1 City campus teacher:

Year 1 City campus had a special visitor this week, from Greenpeace. Duygu told us all about the environmental problems the planet faces and how Greenpeace help to solve these. Year 1 have really enjoyed their new geography topic about keeping the ocean clean.
City Campus Egg Hunt

Our City campus students headed to the forest on Friday to take part in the annual Egg Hunt. Ms Goudy kindly shared a few pictures with us below of our students on the look-out for some eggs.

WEEK OUT
City Campus Performance of 'Raggedy Ann & the New Toys'.

Our Year 1-6 City campus students will be putting on several performances of 'Raggedy Ann & the New Toys' for both our students and parents.

On Tuesday 2nd April our City students will do a performance for our KS1 Zek campus students and Thursday 4th April our students will do two performances for parents at 10:00am & 2:00pm.

Good luck to all of our students taking part, we're sure it will be an absolute success.
Coming up from the PTA

Due to the local elections and the closure of the school on Monday 1st April, the Zek PTA meeting will now take place on Monday 8th April at 9:00 am.
And that brings another edition to a close. Thank you again for joining us and reading about all the events in our Pre/Primary schools.

We wish you all a wonderful week ahead.
