IBDP 2018 Results

The Graduating Class of 2018 proved once again that the British International School Istanbul provides a top class International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme by gaining a 100% pass rate (the fifth time in the last six year BISI students a achieved this feat).  Our top scoring student scored a fabulous 44 points and the Graduating Class as a whole averaged 32 points, well above the world average.  BISI congratulates Danielle Vos on her magnificent achievement.

IGCSE 2018 Results

The June 2018 IGCSE examination results that our 22 Year 11 students and 22 Year 10 students were impatiently waiting for were finally published on August 14th... The weeks of waiting were finally over…

Yet again, students have done well, so congratulations to the IGCSE Class of 2017 – 2018 (and to our Year 10 students who took early exams) with 19 students receiving their ICE award diploma: 26% of them achieving a Distinction – that is to say A*/A grades in five or more subjects. A Merit (A* to C grades in five or more subjects) was achieved by 57% of our students and 17% a Pass for their ICE diploma.

This is another very good set of results for the British International School of Istanbul with 80% exam pass rate (where pass is measured as a C grade or better), 68% with 5 or more A* to C including English and Mathematics, 53 A*and A grades out of 175 exams (not including early entry results) and 5 students gained 5 or more A* and A grades.

The overall mean grade achieved by our Year 11 students was B.

Several of our students gained six or more A* grades and we offer special congratulations to:

Rishibh Prakash with 11 A*/A  grades

Aral Denis De Moor with 10 A*/A grades

Can Morand with 7 A*/ A grades

Pelin Hastemir with 6 A*/A grades

We are very proud of all of our students in the IGCSE Class of 2018. Some of our students will move on to different countries to complete the final stage of their secondary education and for those who are leaving us, they leave with our very best wishes for the future. Those who are staying will be joining our IB Diploma Programme and have two years of hard work in front of them before they finally graduate.

The success of our IGCSE Class of 2018 has been a collaborative effort between our students, their parents and our teachers. BISI would like to thank all of our parents whose support has been invaluable throughout the course. We would also like, especially, to thank our teachers for the excellent job they have done in preparing our students for their examinations and encouraging them at all times to achieve their full academic potential.
