A Pre & Primary School publication

This week our primary students performed the long-awaited "War of the Worlds" with secondary students for three nights in a row. We were amazed by the performance as well as the story. If you missed it,  scroll down to see the wonderful photos.

Our students at City campus also had an eventful week! The Primary school students worked on a floral themed project inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe and the EYFS students went on a trip to the Belgrade Forest.  We are sure you will enjoy the photos of the creative art work and the forest trip!

The year 2 students at National School were also quite busy this week learning the journey of bread. Scroll down for the full story and photos.

Have a great weekend!
WEEK IN
Trip to the Forest
EYFS children from the city campus enjoyed a trip to Belgrade Forest this Friday. We went for a walk and talked about the changes in the forest since last time we were here. Then we had lunch together and played at the playground. We love Belgrade Forest!

Emma Feltham, City Campus EYFS Teacher
Art Club
This week, KS1 students at Etiler Campus Art Club completed a floral themed project. The project was inspired by Georgia O'Keeffe, who painted enlarged versions of a single flower, like what you would see if you were to look through a magnifying glass.
In 1958, Georgia O'Keeffe painted the famous  Ladder to the Moon. The painting shows a handmade wooden ladder suspended in the blue sky.
The students liked  the beauty in this simplicity and created a 3D version of this famous painting. They used wooden ice-cream sticks to create the ladder and tissue paper to make the mountains. And for the moon they used glitter paper to add a little sparkle to their artworks.
War of the Worlds
The wait is finally over! After weeks of preparation and practice, our students performed the long awaited "War of the Worlds".  The sci-fi themed performance  tackled issues like inequality, global warming, wars and corruption the threat of the end of the world. which   Congratulations to all students for their brilliant performance!
The Journey of Bread

The Year 2 children in National School have been learning through a D.T. Unit about the journey of bread from field to table. The lessons in our newly equipped food technology room have included sampling bread, baking bread and following a procedure for making toast. Next, the students will have the exciting task of writing a set of instructions for a friend to make a sandwich. Practical Skills will be practiced in the preparation of serving food including; grating, chopping, slicing and peeling a wide range of ingredients
