The British International School Istanbul has been in existence for twenty five years, but the current proprietor took over in 2000. BISI is a split site school with a City Campus for Pre School and Primary and a campus in Zekeriyakoy which covers students aged 2 ½ to 18. Over the last few years the school has demonstrated growth and development and continues to do so. Student numbers have increased and the facilities and resources followed suit.

The Zekeriyakoy Campus was built ten years ago in response to the growth in student numbers and it has recently been further expanded. An additional building containing nine classrooms, a fitness suite/dance studio, and additional ICT lab and office space was constructed at the start of the 2011/2012 Academic Year.  This building houses both the Secondary Creative Arts and the Mathematics departments of the school.  A new City Campus was opened in January 2017.  This campus houses children between the ages of 2 ½ and 11 and gives room to accommodate further future expansion in the school.  In September 2017 the school expanded to include a new national school for children between the ages of 2 ½ and 7 whose parents seek a Turkish education with an international flavor.  It is anticipated that the new national school will grow year on year until it educates students right up to Year 13.
