Secondary School

Those of you who find my face familiar will already be aware that I enjoy working at BISI. This is mostly because the students here are a group of optimistic, enterprising and endearing individuals. The opportunity to work more closely with students in a non-teaching capacity just seems to be right for me and for the school.
During the past 20 years I have worked with students and young people in the UK dealing with a range of issues. This can be as simple as just being a listening ear, dealing with practical problems or on some occasions dealing with more serious concerns. The core of my work for 14 years was working with age 16+ students guiding and helping their progression onto higher education.
In a school like ours the needs of the students can be very diverse, ranging from a little bout of homesickness to major choices about university study. Whatever the issues might be over the next year I am looking forward to a rewarding time as student advisor at BISI.
