Extra-curricular activities for the Secondary School Students
After a hard day in the academic chair we try to encourage our students to engage in something slightly different at the end of the school day. Every term we offer a selection of extra-curricular activities from 3.35 to 4.35 between Monday and Thursday. These activities are becoming increasingly popular as the range of clubs being offered continues to widen.
The most popular activities last term were the usual sport team activities of football, basketball and swimming. However, there were also the academic clubs such as the Model United Nations and the Scholar’s Cup, where students gained an increasing understanding of world affairs and general knowledge. The Model United Nations involved students in conferences where they took part in debates and discussions about controversial, topical issues affecting the world today. The Scholar’s Cup students trained throughout the year for a global competition that took place in China in June. Our students competed very well in the final.
There were mixed fortunes for our sports teams. Our swimmers had a marvellous victory over all comers in a local swimming competition. The footballers had more wins than losses.
A new addition to our extra-curricular programme is The International Award Scheme. Students take part in a number of challenging activities such as hiking, camping, water sports with the aim of ultimately achieving the Gold Award.
This year we have introduced a number of academic clubs as recommended by the school inspectors who visited last year.
Our huge success last year was the drama club which culminated in the very successful production of Oliver. Primary and Secondary children sang, danced and acted to almost full house audiences.
We are building on the successes of previous years to create an extra-curricular programme with something for everyone.

Activity choices include art, beads, movie, dance & amp; drama, times table, board games, Lego, ICT, ball skills, play dough, puppets, swimming, cricket, Hapkido, touch rugby, ballet, Taekwondo and belly dancing. Activity choices change depending on the season and we aim to provide a variety of choices over the year.
